Farmers leading and learning about the soil carbon frontier

Farmers leading and learning about the soil carbon frontier

Project Brief

A network of trial and demonstration sites, coordinated by key farm groups, are designed to deliver the AotG goal of increasing soil carbon stocks. The farm groups are located in NSW (CWFS and Farmlink), Victoria (SFS, BCG and MSF), South Australia (Ag Excellence Alliance) and Tasmania (SFS) and will work in conjunction with CSIRO (Sustainable Agriculture Flagship). The project will examine existing, new and alternative strategies for farmers in the wheat/sheep zone to increase soil carbon. The overall aim of the project is to raise the awareness of farmers about how they can reduce GHG emissions, sequester soil carbon and make improvements in farm productivity.
