National Industry-led Carbon Farming Outreach Project
Ag Excellence Alliance leads the south eastern component of the National Industry-Led Carbon Farming Outreach Project, funded under the Federal Government's Carbon Farming Outreach Program. The project is led by the WA Grower Group Alliance and works with a consortia of 30+ partners across all states. It uses a train-the-trainer model of extension to create a multi-level shift in knowledge, through upskilling a group of existing independent farm advisers to improve industry capacity to share knowledge. This group will provide training to landholders and the network of farming systems groups through workshops and local events.
These advisers come from agronomic and livestock consultancy backgrounds having established trust and confidence based on their existing credibility and connections in the industry. This group will meet as a professional network to build knowledge and determine how best to apply emissions management knowledge and rely information to landholders.
Delivered with funding support from the Commonwealth of Australia through the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water under the Carbon Farming Outreach Program in collaboration with the Grower Group Alliance.
Workshops
Ag Excellence will assist trainers in delivery of 20 workshops around the state to assist landholders with understanding agricultural emissions and preparing them for related decision making. Workshop 1 was held in Adelaide on 5 August, 2024 as part of the Ag Ex Forum, view the report here.
