Mid North Mesonet
About the Project
The Mid North Mesonet was a pilot project established in the Mid North of South Australia. The network of 41 Profiling Automatic Weather Stations (Profiling AWS) covers a region stretching from Jamestown and Port Pirie in the north, through the Clare Valley and almost to Two Wells in the south. Estimates of the potential loss in value from spray drift in the Mid North area before the Mid North Mesonet was installed was in the order of $180M per annum.
