Farming Systems Group Spring Field Days are ready to roll

Farming Systems Groups across the Northern and Yorke Region are ready to roll out their annual spring field days.
Northern and Yorke Regional Landcare Facilitator, Michael Richards is encouraging farmers across the region to take some time out from daily running of the farm and attend one of four upcoming Spring Field Days.
“The field days are a great way to get a first hand look at the innovative trials occurring in our region,” Mr Richards said.
“Currently, we have some exciting work showcasing new crop varieties, pest management, water use efficiency, improved soil condition and more.
“We are really fortunate in this region to have active farming groups and the trials are looking great this year, after some favourable rains.
“Whether you live in Warooka in the South or Wilmington in the North there is a field day to suit you.
“Guest speakers from research organisations, private industry and Government will all be on hand to discuss issues and answer any questions you might have.”
The Spring Field Days started last week with the Mid North High Rainfall Group. Next is Northern Sustainable Soils on 11 September, Hart Group on 17 September, YP Alkaline Soils Group on 19 September and the Upper North Farming Systems group on 20 September.
“These events are a great way to meet new people and get new ideas on how to improve your business and farming practices,” Mr Richards said.
