The countdown is on to Grain Producers SA’s Spray Forum at the FARM Centre at Freeling on 7 March, headlined by internationally renowned speakers Professor Steve Powles, Professor Chris Preston, Dr Andrew Hewitt and Mary O’Brien.

More than 100 attendees are expected to gather and discuss the opportunities and challenges around agrichemical application in the spray industry.

Grain Producers SA (GPSA) Chief Executive Officer Brad Perry said the impressive line-up of speakers will give grain producers plenty to think about and act on.

“The Spray Forum is a grain industry-led initiative where we’ve pulled together internationally renowned speakers from across Australia for a one-day discussion on the importance of agrichemical spraying,” he said.

“We want to see as many grain producers at the Spray Forum as possible to ensure there are robust discussions and strong outcomes.

“There will be panel sessions, as well as trade stalls and Ramsey Bros’ WeedSeeker technology on display.”

Chair of the Hart Field Day Site Andre Sabeeney and Vice President of the Crop Science Society of South Australia David Keetch will also speak on nozzles, boom height and ground speed, with Professor Saravana Kumar from the University of South Australia delving into the psychological complexities of achieving best practice spray application.

There will also be panel discussions on the role of weather and weather stations in spraying, as well as maximising spray application in the paddock.

The Spray Forum will be emceed by recent Grains Research and Development Corporation Southern Region Seed of Light recipient Belinda Cay.
