SA Drought Hub welcomes Dr Peter Hayman as Deputy Director

The SA Drought Hub is thrilled to welcome Dr Peter Hayman to the team as Deputy Director.

Peter currently works as he Principal Scientist, Climate Applications, with the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), and will now commit one day per week to further supporting the Hub.

Peter will work with the Hub to improve the links between climate information to decision making.

Peter has an exceptional career history, with his 35-year careers spanning science communication, the science-policy interface project management and applied research.

"I am looking forward to working with the SA Drought Hub team and industry partners to learn more about what has worked in past droughts and how we can prepare for future droughts.

"Through the Hub we have a valuable opportunity to work with industry and regional communities to prepare for dry times. I have been impressed with the way that the SA Drought Hub has combined practices for dealing with drought with projects that prepare people and communities.

"I am looking forward to help drive programs which explore how we manage the spectrum of seasons, and how to deal with climate that varies but is also changing."
