Effective Spray Workshops in SA
One of Australia’s leading spray application specialists, Jorg Kitt, will headline an upcoming series of Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) effective spray application workshops in South Australia.
Growers and advisers are invited to attend the workshops at Naracoorte (March 25), Minnipa (March 27), Cleve (March 28) and Cummins (March 28).
GRDC Grower Relations Manager – South, Darren Arney, says the workshops are designed to enhance the performance of sprayers, improve product application and mitigate spray drift risk factors.
“Workshop attendees will be presented with expert insight into new 2,4-D label changes and the legal and nozzle requirements when using 2,4-D, as well as nozzle selection, droplet size and spray quality, appropriate conditions for spraying, and day versus night spraying in terms of risk of drift,” Mr Arney says.
“Other topics to be covered include the 24-hour risk profile for summer spraying, rate of product and adjuvant selection, adjuvant effects on nozzles, boom height above the target, influence of travel speed and boom stability performance.”
Part of a larger suite of GRDC workshops dealing with spray application, the free workshops are being presented by Ag Excellence Alliance.
The Naracoorte and Cleve workshops will be from 7.30-11am, while the Minnipa and Cummins workshops will be from 1-4.30pm, with light refreshments provided.
