Applications now open for the 2027 Hart Research Internship
Applications are now open for the 2027 Hart Research Internship, a one-year opportunity delivered through the SA Drought Hub Regional Internship Program co-funded by South Australian Grain Industry Trust (SAGIT), in partnership with Hart Field-Site Group and South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI).
The research internship offers graduate students one year of training in applied grains research and extension and is based in Clare, South Australia with the Hart Field-Site Group (Hart).
The intern will work with Hart’s Research Lead on a daily basis, and collaborate with other researchers, industry, consultants and growers to deliver research projects in regional South Australia.
They will gain skills in the areas of trial design and management, sampling, statistical analysis of data and written and oral communication with growers and advisers.
They will also assist with the preparation of Hart events (e.g. field days and workshops) and have the opportunity to network and attend industry events.
REGIONAL INTERNSHIP IN APPLIED GRAINS RESEARCH
Hart conducts a large number of trials across the Mid North of South Australia and interns will contribute to research areas such as:
- Drought resilience
- Weed management and control
- Soil fertility and crop nutrition
- Crop entomology
- Agronomy and seeding systems
Research options may be tailored to the successful applicant’s specific interests.
The successful applicant will receive a high level of training and support in all aspects of the role, while also having the opportunity to work independently.
