SARDI Minnipa Agricultural Centre (MAC) Annual Field Day 2026

September 9

You’re invited to join us at the SARDI MAC Annual Field Day for a day of practical research updates, trial walks and discussions focused on the latest innovations for low rainfall farming systems.

This year’s program brings together SARDI researchers and industry experts to share the latest findings from current trials and research that can support on-farm decision-making. Our keynote address will be from Dr Mick Rose, Associate Professor Southern Cross University Soil Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Project Leader, who will speak on managing herbicide residues and reducing risks to crop performance in Eyre Peninsula (EP) soils. Mick will also discuss new knowledge and tools to interpret soil microbial indicators.

We are also pleased to share our session topics for 2026, which will include:

  • Spray technology – insights and options
  • De-risking the seeding program trial update – seeding systems, herbicide interactions and timing of rolling in lentils
  • 2026 disease management – net blotch
  • GRDC National Variety Trials (NVT) updates – wheat, barley and break crops
  • GRDC time of sowing and variety research
  • Water quality and livestock research updates
  • SA Discovery Farms – barley biomass trial
  • Crop safety and weed management in lentils
  • Lentil nutrition
  • GRDC and SA Discovery Farms stripper stubble systems trial update

The day will commence from 8.30 am at MAC, with presentations, trial walks and plenty of opportunities to speak directly with researchers and industry specialists.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided free of charge thanks to our event sponsors. Please register your attendance so we can cater accordingly.
