Livestock SA bring producers together for a break beyond the paddock
An initiative from Livestock SA in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) and the SA Drought Hub. This program is designed to help South Australian regional groups and organisations bring their communities together for a BBQ.
In these challenging seasonal conditions, it’s more important than ever for producers to reconnect and support each other. The Beyond the Paddock BBQs provide a relaxed and informal way to share a meal, chat, and take a well-deserved break.
Why host a Beyond the Paddock BBQ?
- Reconnect: Bring your local producers together in a relaxed setting to catch up and share experiences.
- Support Each Other: These BBQs provide an opportunity for producers to offer mutual support and strengthen community ties during tough times.
- Funding Available: Livestock SA is offering up to $300 to help cover the costs of hosting the BBQ. This includes venue hire, food, promotional materials, and more.
How it works
- Apply for Funding: Regional groups and organisations across South Australia are eligible to apply for up to $300 in funding to host a BBQ.
- Plan Your Event: Choose a date and time for your BBQ (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Ensure the event is welcoming and open to your local producers and regional community.
- Submit Your Application: Fill out the online application form by Friday, 8 November 2024, or until all funds are allocated.
- Host Your BBQ: Once your application is approved, you’ll receive detailed instructions and support for hosting and promoting your BBQ.
- Share Your Story: After the event, submit a short summary report to Livestock SA, sharing the impact of your BBQ on your community.
